Play Therapy
Process
What does Play Therapy involve? the child
is given "Special Time" which will take place every week at the same time and place. Every "Special Time" session will have no interruptions and everything said or done will be kept confidential or private unless the child is harmed or hurt.
Step One
Referral from parent or other professional.
Step Two
If suitable, an assessment meeting with the parents/carers.
Step Three
A block of 12 individual 40-minute Play Therapy sessions is recommended, but this will be discussed during the assessment meeting.
(Please note that some children may need more than 12 sessions).
Step Four
A review meeting with the parents/carers after approximately 6 sessions.
Step Five
Termination and closure meeting.
